Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would love to have a working listening center to add to my classroom that includes engaging non-fiction texts, as well as multicultural stories where my students can see themselves in the books they read. I have a diverse student population with a large range of reading abilities. When students read together in a listening center they can all enjoy the same text regardless of their personal reading ability. This also helps them in their journey to become readers and to love reading. Children look forward to the listening center and I want to provide this for them all year. I am starting this project because my other one that included the texts was not funded. I have books and CD’s that I can use for now and if I get this project funded, I will start another project for the multicultural texts to add to the center. Please help us and thank you so much in advance!
