Our school is in the center of a small, rural town serving 107 ethnically and economically diverse students in grades pre k-6th. There is only one class for each grade level, making the student-teacher ratio very low and the academic experience targeted and focused for each of our students. It’s a wonderful, nurturing environment where each student gets individualized attention and the opportunity to thrive in a supportive setting. The students are eager to learn and to experience everything that life has to offer.
I teach art to these students and their interest and enthusiasm to create and explore the artistic process is nothing short of contagious.
It’s a teacher’s dream to work with such eager children who want to explore the potential of their individual creativity.
My Project
Our school’s art program is currently looking to raise funds to purchase a kiln.
Our students have a great love for art and embrace every new medium that’s introduced, but they need the tools required to fully experience the extent of their creativity.
We have done a few clay projects (which they all love immensely), but we don’t currently have our own kiln to fire the clay and properly complete the process.
Your generous donations for a kiln will greatly benefit our art program and will enable the students to experience the full spectrum of that creative process. They will love seeing their art projects through to the final piece and have fun while learning at such a young and formative age.
