My students need a new book shelf to feature all the great literature that they can choose from on a daily basis. They love to learn and I want to encourage them to explore different worlds.

My Students
I am special education teacher in Chicago Public Schools. My students are in 3rd-5th grades. My students have varying levels of ability and varying disabilities.
My students are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and kind.
My students come to school eager to learn and try their best with everything they do. My students enjoy exploring different academic topics and making their own connections to the text through stories and pictures. I want to instill a love of learning in my students which is more possible when we have the necessary supplies and materials
My Project
Currently, my classroom has an old bookshelf that is stuffed with many books. My students love to read and need a space that is organized and can offer them many books. The current space is very disorganized and cannot hold all the books that are available to my students. Many of the students will just pull out the same books because it is too overwhelming to dig through all the books. With a new bookshelf that is bigger, we will be able to better organize our space and it will make it more inviting for students to use.
