Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 4th grade students attend one of the largest elementary schools in Utah with over 800 students from Pre-K to 6th grade. All four of the 5th grade classrooms are in portables behind the school since our school is so large! 80% of these students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch. However, these students have goals and want to achieve greatness, but lack the tools that are necessary. They want to learn and understand. They want to grow and ask questions. I want to help provide them with these tools so they can achieve their potential.
My Project
I teach the new generation. They learn differently and they face incredible odds with the state of our planet. In order to effectively teach them, I need the yoga ball chairs to help with their wiggles and the binders to help my students stay organized. While I teach them about our state and our world, I will model how to take care of our Earth by properly recycling and teaching our school how to recycle properly through the Recycling Program I run. With these supplies, I will empower my students to make a difference and embrace making mistakes and loving themselves.
