Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A 3D printer in the art classroom opens up a new dimension of creativity, allowing students to design and produce tangible, three-dimensional works of art. Using digital modeling software, students can sculpt intricate forms, prototypes, and abstract structures that would be difficult or time-consuming to craft by hand.
This technology encourages students to explore concepts such as form, balance, texture, and spatial awareness while integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) principles into their artistic practice.
Beyond student-created artwork, the 3D printer can also be used to fabricate custom tools and classroom supplies, such as paintbrush holders, printing blocks, stencils, or even sculpture armatures. This not only supports the logistics of the art room but also teaches students about practical design and problem-solving. By seeing how their designs can fulfill both aesthetic and functional purposes, students gain a deeper appreciation of how art intersects with everyday life and technology.
