A New Counseling Space for Student Growth

Help me give my students a new, calming counseling office that is equipped to help.

My Project

My current counseling office is being demolished, and I am moving into a new office space. My military-impacted students have many mental health needs and my counseling office is a safe space for them to explore their feelings and be present in school. However, the furniture I am bringing with me is very old and rusty. With your support, I can create a calming, therapeutic environment where students can learn and grow. I would love to have a new kidney table for my small counseling groups.

The table would allow students to sit together with me while they learn skills and strategies.

My new office will also be large enough for a calm-down area with sensory stations for my students to use when needed. Many of my students have ADHD and sensory play is very effective in supporting them and teaching them strategies to be successful in the classroom. After COVID-19, I have seen an increase in students who need support in coping skills. Having my small groups at the kidney table and having a sensory area will help with teaching them.
