A New Corner for Reading!

Help me give my students an area in our room to dive into incredible new books! With these items, my students will be able to read in a cozy spot, as well as embark in new reading material!

My Students

My students are a group that enjoys how to learn, grow, and discover. Throughout the year, I have come to find that independent reading time seems to be one of their favorite times of the day! Through reading, my students are able to escape to another reality where books come to life in the classroom and they are able to gain knowledge through brand new lenses.

My classroom is a fearless bunch that will never turn down a phenomenal read inside of a book.

They are making and understanding text to text, text to self, and text to world connections every day!

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these. With the additional furniture in our reading corner, students will be able to create an environment that is comfortable and literacy-rich!

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.

They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
