Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, eager, inquisitive and appreciative.

Most of my students come from either single parent and/or immigrant homes where they experience rich cultural diversity that sometimes does not translate to American education and culture as a whole.

When introduced to new things outside of their home life my students grow and their curiosity fuels their appreciation for new experiences like stories, collaboration and creative problem solving via new perspectives.

My Project

Teaching in an under privileged and lower economic status neighborhood and district has immense challenges. With help from my donors I am able to create truly special experiences for my students that may seem simple to many but are incredible for others.

Immersive and dynamic learning starts with the creativity of a teacher and the tools an educator is equipped with.

I believe in the philosophy of the students "owning the learning space and class room" with a set of rules and guidance on how to participate and be a productive learner in the students home-away-from-home, aka the class room. These tools specifically allow me to focus on inquisitive based learning and communal participation in a safe and friendly learning environment.
