Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Although this is the end of the 2022/2023 school year, I am already thinking about the new students who will walk into my classroom in August. These students will want all of the great prizes and supplies that were funded by DonorsChoose that my current students have received so I am reaching out again for some much needed support.
A new group of fourth graders is a new group to motivate and reward!
With this project, I have included fidget prizes as incentives for both academic and behavior goals set on the first day of school. These goals include increasing reading fluency, learning all multiplication facts, and completing homework daily. The students will be excited to recieve such fun novelties for their hard work!
Also included are Spanish to English dictionaries that will aid with my students who are newcomers and come to the classroom speaking no English at all. These dictionaries are not prizes, but rather essential tools of learning. These dictionaries will not only help the students communicate with others in the class, but they will help me communicate with these students who only speak Spanish!
Everything in this project will help my new group of fourth graders become excited, stay organized, and learn as much as possible as they enter the new school year!
