A New Beginning

Help me give my students an exciting science experience! 3rd graders learn about life cycles, forces, magnets, animal adaptations, fossils, and weather. The STEM exploration kits will be instrumental in giving my students the hands-on experience they desire.

My Students

My new 3rd graders and I are starting the school year a little nervous, but also very excited. This year I will be teaching a new grade!

Elementary students come to us with bright eyes and full hearts.

We need to honor their excitement and keep the interest going throughout the school year.

My students come from a rural area in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We have so much beauty and nature around us, but some of my students never have the opportunity to fully embrace their love the sciences because of the lack of STEM-based materials in the classroom

My Project

Science has changed into something bigger than it used to be, which makes it harder to achieve mastery with the materials of the past. In my classroom, I have materials from when I was a 3rd grader!

Times have changed and so have our students.

We need to make sure we have materials that are engaging and still allow our students to learn the necessary standards.

The science kits and materials for my project will not only help my students learn, but they will be giving them everyday examples of how science influences everything around them.

Magnets, fossils, and life cycles are just a few of the topics that are covered in 3rd grade. Without materials that the students can physically have in their hands, it is difficult for them to understand the content on a deeper level.
