Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love the fact that my students come from all over the world and from all different backgrounds. I have military students, special education students, students who are new to the state and even new to the country learning English for the first time. I have many students from the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Iran, Korea, and Russia, sprinkled with kids who have been part of our school since Kindergarten.
Our school has been designated a Title I school in the past because many students receive a free lunch for different socioeconomic reasons.
All of my students are eager to learn new things during this pandemic.
My Project
We have about half the number of ukuleles needed for my students to learn online. This is another request for donations so that we can order 10 more ukuleles for the students. They are eagerly awaiting the chance to learn to play an instrument while we all stay safe at home and learn online. With the gift of music, I can make learning to read and write more engaging. I believe that music is an essential part of life and want to share the joy of music with my students. I appreciate your support!
