My students are... well, ME.
They are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher.
They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and teachers. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.
These students are full of energy with a determination to learn. The school does not have a great reputation with music, and as a third year teacher, I am trying to change that. I feel that the main reason their reputation has not been positive is because of the limited and out-dated resources.
The materials I am requesting includes a Dr. Beat metronome and Oboe Reeds. With the growing size of my band program; right now, the Dr. Beat is an essential part of the classroom. Alongside the growth of the program, we have seen an increase in our double reed sections.
If you, the donors, show our students that we care and appreciate them, they will develop a sustainable work ethic that they can maintain in this world.
Although sharing is important, it is necessary for my students to have the same instruments at the same time in order to make the music work. It will be great to have these materials in the classroom, so students can work properly. These materials will help offset some of the cost of purchasing them with the school budget.
These materials will open brand new doors to students showing off their creativity which is something that is lacking with this school and our students. I want to show students that they do have options in the way they can be creative and motivated.
