A MultiSensory Approach to Learning in the Classroom

My Students

Every morning, my children come in excited and eager to learn. They are a dynamic group of students who are accountable for themselves and their learning. Our classroom is a home away from home where we learn and grow together as a family.

My class is made up of 19 beautiful boys and girls of all different backgrounds.

When they come together, they are unique individuals who create a diverse and dynamic whole. Their personalities and character are honored and celebrated. We are a team that works together, learns together, and grows together.

My Project

Right now, we are working on incorporating technology into our classroom. At the moment, we have 3 desktop computers and a basic projector and document camera. Recently, we obtained a classroom set of 5 iPads to incorporate into the classroom. We have taken advantage of this opportunity and used these iPads for a variety of projects and learning centers. The biggest obstacle for our classroom is utilizing a 21st century interactive board of some sort. Although we have a projector and document camera that we are grateful for, the interactive opportunities are limited. Different learning styles will be met with a combination of auditor, visual, and tactile opportunities being incorporated. With this requested SMARTboard, the students can play interactive educational games, prepare for tests, complete guided practice components with ease, research for our projects, and view a wide variety of media.

Please give my students the opportunity to have this wonderful resource at their fingertips.

An interactive whiteboard in a classroom does wonders for the classroom as well as its students. It provides them an interactive way to participate in their learning by viewing demonstrations in a neat and organized fashion and participating in interactive guided and independent practice. It is a versatile tool that can be used in a variety of ways. The possibilities are endless.
