This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have an intervention group of 21, 2nd/3rd grade students who are working hard every day to learn how to read. We have an intensive daily reading intervention where students are explicitly taught phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency.
My students have gone through school struggling to read and are hesitant to try and learn because they are scared and think they can’t do it.
With your donation I can provide them with A MULTI-SENSORY APPROACH TO BECOMING A LIFELONG READER through different manipulatives. My kiddos become bored with paper/pencil and using the white board. We will be able to practice mapping and spelling words on jelly boards and practice blending using magnetic chips. This will help me keep my scholars engaged and working hard.
