A Much Needed Upgrade

My students need an upgrade to classroom technology. We have the old (older than the student) tube tvs that are in dire need of an upgrade.

My Students

I have a great set of student each year who love being in my science class. It never fails to amaze me every year the number of student who become totally engaged and interested in science. This is easily seen when students are sending me or telling me about some content they saw and how they relate it back to the thing that we have covered. The best part is that I get to learn from them as well. We have created a community where we really do collaborate around the subject. It is not teach or students centered, but rather we have made our class subject centered.

My Project

While having a projector is nice, there are some things that just look and function better on a tv. But, the tv's we have are the old tube TVs that are literally older than the high school students I teach. They've never even grown up knowing what one is. I teach them about science and they have to look at it through well-outdated technology. If they are going to experience science to it's fullest it might as well be in HD. So, it's time to give them the upgrade they deserve. I know that they will be even more excited and engaged once we get them some decent technology.
