My students work hard everyday, socially and academically, to overcome many personal circumstances. This is a safe environment where students learn that they can grow and achieve their dreams. They are encouraged to never quit so that they can meet their educational goals.
Our school population is very diverse and we have full inclusion of both physically and mentally challenged students within our classroom.
Despite their circumstances, all of my students are curious and eager, they love to learn and want to do well. Meeting individual goals is celebrated.
My students are at a disadvantage before they ever attend school and they spend every year trying to make up that achievement gap. School is their happy place and it's a joy to teach my students.
My Project
My students are in great need of computer mice! We are very fortunate to have individual Chromebooks in our classroom. These computer mice will enable us to better use our technology for our online learning across the curriculum. As time has passed the track pads have begun to fail, and replacing and fixing, has become increasingly difficult. Using mice is the solution.
Computer mice will allow all of my students to not only navigate smoothly through computer usage but will allow for mouse skills to be taught and replicated, such as: right-click options, highlighting, moving, copy, paste, cut, etc.
While we have the Chromebooks, we do not have any mice to accompany them (or storage to keep them in!). With donations, my class will be able to grow and achieve so much more!
