My Students

My fourth-grade students are an energetic and diverse mix of learners. They are a fun-loving, accepting, and kind group of students that take joy in welcoming everyone to the group. With the current global pandemic, we are doing a hybrid learning model. Our class spends part of the week together and the other part distance learning, Monday through Friday. They are learning the fundamentals of math, reading, writing, science, and social studies as well as social-emotional learning skills to help them cope with what this pandemic has brought on.

We strive to face each lesson and each day with a growth mindset.

When we are learning, our brains need to be able to stretch and grow through our struggles or difficulties. I am proud of this group for their dedication to their educations. Many in our room receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast through the school. Some families do not have much money, but they all have grateful hearts and eager brains.

This is a wonderful group of kids that look for the good in life and spread kindness throughout the school. I hope to provide them with the tools they need to tackle this school year.

My Project

After an early departure and adjusted re-entry, our school year will look much different for students. I would love to give these engaged learners their own mice to use and a storage area to keep their mice, headphones, and math manipulatives at their desks. Our class has 25 kids that need to keep all of their materials, including coats, backpacks, and lunches at their desks this year due to social distancing. The mice will allow them to have their own individual mouse to use each day to help stop the spread of germs. The storage piece will allow students extra space at their desks to store the individual materials they will need throughout the day.

By donating to our project, you will help my students to stay safe and well prepared for learning in a global pandemic.

Students need to feel safe as they learn; this year especially. By providing them with these essential. individual pieces, they can focus more on learning rather than sanitizing each material used.
