Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders are amazing little humans. They come to school with a smile and always eager to learn. After spending their kindergarten year learning through a computer screen, they are ready to learn, play, laugh and interact with their classmates.

My Project

Having access to books on inclusion, equity and diversity is an integral part of any classroom. It is important children see themselves and their experiences reflected in literature. These books will give my students something they can read and connect with.

I aim to have a classroom library that is full of diverse stories that reflect my students' backgrounds and cultures.

With these books I hope to foster a love for literature while at the same time fostering self love, self acceptance and an appreciation of the differences within our classroom community and beyond.
