My Project
I am lucky enough to be a school library aide. I have just over 300 students and I love how passionate a lot of them are about the library and books they read. I want this space to be safe and comfortable for them. This is my first year, and I inherited this library. I want the kids to be able to have a few new things, such as a rug, bean bags, decorations, and floor pillows. These things would help them feel better about coming into the library and grabbing some new books.
My goal for this project is to update the library and get more kids excited to come in.
All my students work really hard and are also so kind and appreciative to the things I do. I am planning to set up a "cozy corner" that the kids can sit quietly and read. I also love putting out coloring pages every so often, which is why I would love a big supply of markers and crayons. I also plan to update some of the decorations and signs around the room. With the shelf markers, I want to make it easier for students to find the subjects they love.
I am very thankful for the students at my school for making me feel welcome. I just hope that I can make them feel more welcome in the school library. I'm not sure if many library aides have done this before, but I appreciate any help at all. Thank you!
