This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students at EM are a wonderful group of kids who love learning. As a school that was unfortunately hit by a tornado a few months ago, as a community we work to keep the spirit high and our reach for student success even higher. Our school is a Montessori school. It provides children the opportunities to learn in a natural environment tailored at their own needs. I am proud to teach this wonderful class of Pre-K/K combo for the 2018-2019 school year.

My Project

These materials will help foster independent learning as well as promote a comfortable learning environment with flexible seating. These materials would benefit the Montessori setting and promote collaboration among peers, enhance social skills, and allow students choices in choosing activities tailored to their needs. These materials are chosen to benefit my classroom through literacy, character development, and social skills building. My project will benefit a group of students who will collaborate with peers while teaching each other. The materials are beneficial to a Montessori classroom that promotes higher order thinking and collaborative efforts. I’m excited for the 2018-2019 school year.
