Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a high poverty area. Every day I see that these are very determined and intelligent students.
As a new teacher, I am still adding to my classroom.
At the beginning of the school year, I ensure that I purchase school supplies for my students to have at the beginning of the year. As the year progresses, pencils break and glue sticks get used.
Often times, students are unable to bring items from home and rely on the supplies that are provided.
My Project
As the year progresses, school supplies are used. These items will help us finish out the new year as well as help my class next year begin their year.
We think a monster ate our classroom supplies!
We have scissors that went missing and a lack of glue sticks. We often have to borrow from a neighbor because we do not have a pencil or eraser. We can never seem to have a dry erase marker that is not drying out. It is the time that we replenish our supply as well as leave supplies for the next year's students. We hope to get this funded! We use these items on a daily basis and it would make a big difference if we were able to get new supplies.
