Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school recently opened a classroom for kids with autism, blindness, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, etc. We are excited to be able to provide an education for students who struggle, but are still valuable and unique learners.
Our class is extremely diverse in learning levels and needs, but works well together as a team.
We think differently, but when our comprehension is understood, we have amazing ideas and demonstrate tremendous potential as well as an eagerness to learn.
Due to having students with so many struggles, we embrace learning lessons taught to music for engagement and require pictures for each segment of a lesson to maximize comprehension.
My Project
Our class recently acquired a STEM kit that will teach gravity and engineering. However, we are missing one important component. We are in great need of a magnetic easel in order to utilize the fabulous engineering kit!
Our scholars need a long magnetic board for our engineering/ gravity kit to stick to in order to design, explore, and problem solve the components to work effectively.
We tried using an easel, but the slant of the easel interfered with the effectiveness. As we explore the Scientific Method, they have come to the conclusion this would solve our more recent obstacle. Please consider helping them improve their exploration.
This item would also help with our ELA and math skills as we can utilize the board when spelling words out with magnetic letters, practice ten frames in math, and problem solve! A magnetic white board can be used for many years and in numerous subject matters.
