My Students

Second graders are amazing! These students go through quite a metamorphosis. They begin the year as burgeoning readers, budding mathematicians, and blossoming scientists. Throughout their journey in second grade, they bloom into experienced students ready to take on the world!

I am meeting a brand-new group of second grade scholars this year ready for an exciting adventure in learning!

These will be students with a variety of social, emotional, and academic needs and coming from diverse backgrounds with many new English Language Learners. Providing a common, inviting, and safe area for everyone to grow together is my highest priority!

My Project

In second grade, we do a lot of learning together on the carpet. Having a welcoming and comfortable place to meet makes it even more inviting. No one wants to sit on a cold, bare floor, right?

With this rug, students can have a place to talk with partners, work in a group, and have class discussions during mini lessons and practice time.

The large rug gives everyone their own space when needed but also serve as a fun, colorful accent to the classroom.

The rug I chose is also safety-rated specifically for classrooms and high-quality so that it will last for years and years to come.
