This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My high school students have been through so much the last few years and are so excited to be back in the classroom to do chemistry labs in person. Many of our labs require the use of precise scales the weigh to the hundredths place. Scales are essential pieces of equipment ideal for any chemistry weighing experiment. Scales are necessary for weighing compounds, chemicals and other materials to ensure that you have the correct measurements when doing chemistry experiments.

Teaching students how to measure using a balance in the laboratory is a very important skill and having accurate balances in our classroom will make that possible.

So many labs in chemistry require balances and having them in the lab will make teaching that important technique possible.

Having the students in a class setting with their peers and learning in a real life lab setting has made a huge impact on their social and emotional well being. Students need to be around their peers and learning at the same time!
