As soon as the dental simulator mannequin heads arrived, students gathered around them with excitement and curiosity. We immediately began using the typodonts to practice identifying teeth, understanding anatomy, and simulating procedures they will be expected to perform in the workforce. Having hands-on tools has transformed our classroom from a lecture space into a true dental lab.\r\n\r\nThe bitewing X-ray positioning kits have allowed students to practice proper film placement and positioning techniques safely and confidently. Instead of just memorizing steps from a slideshow, students are now applying concepts, correcting mistakes, and learning through trial and error — just like dental assistants do on the job. The dental anatomy coloring workbooks have also been a big hit, helping students of all learning styles strengthen their understanding of tooth anatomy in a fun, low-stress way while reinforcing vocabulary they need for exams and certifications.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue building on these skills as we move deeper into radiography, dental anatomy, and chairside assisting lessons. These materials are preparing them not only for class assessments, but for industry certifications and real careers in healthcare. Thank you for believing in my students and investing in their future — your support is helping them see themselves as capable, confident future dental professionals.","fullyFundedDate":1769178236439,"projectUrl":"project/building-future-dental-assistants/9944051/","projectTitle":"Building Future Dental Assistants","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Simental","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10362522_orig.jpg?crop=1016,1016,x0,y298&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769023063327","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10362522"},{"teacherId":10362522,"projectId":9941096,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, my classroom now feels like a place where every student can fully participate from the moment they walk in. We are using these classroom essentials daily — from notebooks and writing tools to organization supplies — so students can focus on learning instead of worrying about what they're missing. One of the most meaningful moments was watching students open their new supplies and immediately begin organizing their materials with pride. Something as simple as having their own notebook gave them a sense of ownership and confidence that truly changed the energy of our room.\r\n\r\nMy students were genuinely excited when the materials arrived. Several shared that it was the first time they didn't feel \"behind\" before the lesson even started. I saw quieter students raise their hands more, students stay engaged longer, and others take better care of their work because they finally had the tools they needed. These supplies removed a barrier that many students quietly carry, and the relief on their faces said more than words ever could.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue using these materials to support daily lessons, hands-on activities, and reflective work that helps students build responsibility, confidence, and consistency. Because of you, my classroom is a more welcoming, organized, and equitable space — one where students feel seen, supported, and capable of success. Thank you for believing in my students and for helping create a classroom where dignity and learning go hand in hand.","fullyFundedDate":1764970267190,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials/9941096/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Simental","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10362522_orig.jpg?crop=1016,1016,x0,y298&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769023063327","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10362522"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63977","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":333,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":63977,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Santa Rita High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Santa Rita High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/tucson-unified-school-district/santa-rita-high-school/63977"}
