Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am so fortunate to teach an outstanding group of 3rd- 5th grade students. Everyday I am impressed with the progress they make and I am constantly inspired by the potential I see in them. I teach students with Autism in a small class setting.
My students are creative, imaginative and eager to learn.
They enjoy art, building and creating. My goal is to challenge and instill a upon them a Growth Mindset and help them develop their STEM skills.
My Project
I will use these items to create a Makerspace in my classroom. My students are very creative and will enjoy learning STEM skills by building and creating. Students will have various teacher directed STEM Challenges that will inspire them to create and explore different concepts. Students will also be able to use the Makerspace to create and build as they choose during set times throughout the week. They can use the Legos to create and tinker, the Keva planks to build structures, and the Cubelets to create robots with their Lego creations.
Having a Makerspace in my classroom would be a great opportunity to integrate with other students, work on social skills, and learn to work cooperatively in groups.
