Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom needs a makeover with new bookshelves so that students can access materials easily. We have wonderful books which the students love to read. However, our current bookshelf is old, falling apart, and the shelves are not at easily accessible at kid-friendly levels for my first graders.

By donating new bookshelves and a rotating shelf (which can be made into two smaller rotating shelves), this will make the books and materials more accessible to students.

The students love to read. It has been a challenge to have books easily seen and accessible. In addition, the listening center will give students another means to listen to their favorite stories read aloud. As first graders are learning how to read, it is so important to provide materials to foster their learning. Having these materials will surely help my students grow as readers and find a love for reading!
