it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students can see the magic in all things. I want to introduce a fairy to our classroom who will occasionally fly by and leave a sweet treat for a tidy desk or awesome behavior or good work! 🧚🏼♀️✨
Before the school year comes to an end I’d love to add a little magic our classroom to make it a year to remember for my students.
My goal is to positively enforce students to keep their desks tidy at all times because they’ll never know when our fairy will fly on by. I’m a 3rd year teacher and those desks can get scary, I want to teach my students to be responsible for their own areas and ensuring they are tidy and well-kept.
Currently my students earn class cash - this can be earned for good behavior, being caught following our social contract, test grades, showing work on paper, passing lessons on imagine math, and making above an 80 on AR tests. Each week students get the opportunity to shop with the money they’ve earned throughout the week, the snacks would be added to our Shop Cart.
This type of behavior management and classroom management has been most beneficial for my students and I because they are willing to work so hard when they are being rewarded for it. I love seeing them work together to finish assignments and hearing the conversations they’ll hold regarding figuring it out together so they can shop at the end of the week.
