My students had such a fun time being able to adopt their desk pet. I am so grateful to have been able to end the year with my students as we did. I am now teaching Pre-K but am so glad that we did in fact have a magical end in third grade. \r\nStudents were so excited to hear about their desk fairy, and were so excited to actually clean after themselves and keep a tidy desk.\r\nUsing the materials gained from this project, I also created a classroom store. Students were paid with class cash when answering questions correctly, paid based on progress during testing as well as paid for positive behavior in the classroom. This helped me create a fun and engaging environment for them to enjoy being at school and learning. \r\nNow that I am in a whole new grade level, we do have a few more projects running to meet the needs of my much much smaller students.
