My Students
My class is made up of 21 very energetic boys and girls. I encourage them to be themselves and to see similarities and differences in all the children in all situations. We are in an urban New York City school.
My classroom is a fun learning environment.
If you miss one day of school you miss a lot. I’m trying to bring the children a fun and structured education all in one.
My students are full of personalities and most importantly seem to love learning. What more could a teacher of 20 years ask for?
My Project
We are in need of a carpet for our classroom. We need a spot to sit and chill comfortably. We need this large carpet to sit or lay on during story time or during a meeting time. Sometimes I need to pull a small group for reinforcement but I have nowhere to go that is child-friendly.
Everyone loves chilling when they are being read a story.
I will be able to encourage my students to take a book and read on the carpet if I am lucky enough to get funded. This is my first year in the classroom and teaching this grade. I was left a mush mash of foam squares that is not large enough for my awesome class. A carpet can bring many new opportunities for my students.
