A Magic Carpet Ride

My students need a carpet to enjoy the world of books!

I am a third grade teacher. I am a general elementary teacher, but love to take my students on journey's through literature. My school is struggling due to the budget cuts in education. We have very supportive parents, but with the economy, there are times when the needs of the classroom just cannot be met.

In addition to the cuts in education funding and being second year teacher, I am still working to build my own personal collections of things to enhance my student's learning. My school and I are taking a new approach to literacy this year. I have implemented literacy workstations, differentiated reading groups to custom fit the education to my wide range of ability levels and needs. With this new approach to literacy, I need a whole group meeting place. As you see by my photo, I have tried to pour my heart and soul into building an inviting classroom library for my students. With your help, I hope to create an inviting space to work with my students as a whole.

To create this warm and inviting space, I need a nice classroom rug for my students to sit and embark on the magical journey's that books provide. With your help, this will be possible!
