This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 3rd graders who live in an urban high-need community in Maryland. All of my students know exactly which year they'll be graduating from college. They understand in order to get to this point they must work hard, believe in themselves, and become beautiful readers.
My students absolutely love to read. However, the only places that they can read are at their desks or on the cold tile floor. They are unable to find that comfy spot to sit and enjoy their books.
I'm asking for a carpet to allow them to sit and read on something much more comfortable than sitting at a desk. This carpet will help my students want to read longer.
You can help these students achieve their goal of graduating from college in 2023 by simply donating to this project. They will become beautiful readers with your help.
