This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting an Apple MacBook Pro to support my high school special education students with the most innovative and accessible learning tools available. This laptop will provide the speed, storage, and performance they need to unlock academic success and creative expression for every learner.

For students with disabilities, technology isn’t just a luxury—it’s a lifeline to independence and success.

This MacBook Pro's advanced capabilities will allow students to run multiple support tools without lag or crashes, making it a reliable and lasting part of our inclusive classroom.

Why This MacBook Pro? The MacBook Pro with the M3 Pro chip and 18GB memory will support the powerful educational software and accessibility tools my students use simultaneously—something our current technology simply can’t do. With 512GB of storage and a 14-core GPU, this laptop isn’t just fast—it’s built to handle the growing digital needs of students with IEPs and their diverse learning needs.

How It Will Make a Difference: This laptop will be a shared classroom tool, used daily for 1) Speech-to-text and text-to-speech tools to support reading and writing fluency; 2)

Executive functioning apps like digital planners, timers, and graphic organizers for students; 3) Multimedia presentations that give students alternative ways to show what they know; 4) Creative projects such as podcasting, video storytelling, and visual art; and 5) Real-time research and writing, by my students as well as editing support for them.
