A Lovely, Literary Christmas!

My students need books, notebooks, a stuffed bear and writing tools that will keep them reading, writing and dreaming over the entire Christmas holiday!

My Students

My students love to read, write, draw and create. They create stories that relate directly to their lives and enjoy reading all the time.

"KIPPsters, what do we do at school?" "Work hard, be nice, listen and think." This is how we start each day at KIPP Leadership Primary, and my students work hard to live out these simple yet profound values.

My class of 30 boys and girls are sweet, funny, sensitive and resilient. They work hard to become excellent readers, writers, and mathematicians and have come to enjoy the intrinsic reward of learning new skills.

My Project

The Christmas holiday is the biggest stretch of time that students are out of the classroom, and can be an emotional time as many of our students don't have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas in the ways we want every child to be able to experience.

98% of the students in my school live below the poverty line.

Having a gift to open from their school on Christmas morning will be extremely powerful and memorable for them. Donating to this project will give my students joy on Christmas morning as well as a book to read, a bear to read to, a journal to write in and tools to write with.
