My Students

I teach a program for gifted and talented children in grades K-4th. Our program at school has a very small budget and only covers basic supplies for the kids. I have around 120 identified students in my building. I want my students to be 21st Century Learners.

My students have a thirst for technology!

Our school has a STEM initiative going on and we are all trying to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math into the things we teach. Engineering is driving job growth and innovation throughout our economy and society. I am bringing this learning experience into my classroom by introducing electronics into our Big Business of Toys unit.

My Project

Student will use the kits to create a toy. These kits are the easiest and most extensive way to learn create prototypes with electronics. This product makes hardware limitless with their award-winning, ever-growing library of electronic modules, ranging from the very simple power, sensors, LED. I'm hoping that using this product will allow my students to bring their prototypes to life.

STEM is an integrated approach to learning that allows students to interact with a variety of content through real world applications while using 21st century skills of collaboration, communication and creativity.

Creativity is about more than being able to develop an artistic product. It is to create or to innovate something into existence that wasn't there before. These kits will allow my students to use their 21st century skills to create a toy prototype to share.
