My Students
Our school is built on diversity from the students we teach to the the topics that are explored in our inquiry-based classrooms. I love watching our students dive into learning about new topics and different perspectives! They bring energy and enthusiasm to each and every day as well as a desire to do their very best!
We are honored to serve a population of students who come from many countries, speak several languages, and learn in many different ways.
This diversity is one of our biggest strengths as a school community and makes our school a special place for students to learn and grow. Our goal is to encourage students and guide them as they develop unique skills and perspectives that allow them to be successful inside and outside of the classroom setting.
My Project
As a School Social Worker, I often work with students who are struggling with identifying and regulating emotions as well as experiencing hard to navigate life situations and experiences. These book sets will help me as I work with students to identify emotions and develop positive and healthy coping skills. Social-emotional learning is a key aspect of my work with students each day and an important aspect for their lives now and as they get older.
Books help students to connect stories to real-life experiences and allow them a chance to process their own situation in an open, non-judgmental manner.
These Little SPOT book sets focus on emotions, life skills, and taking action. They explain things in simple terms with examples of ways to apply the concepts in real life. They will make a great addition to my resource library and social-emotional learning materials.
