In my classroom, my students are eager to learn and grow, but like many young learners, they often face challenges in managing their emotions. I love their curiosity, energy, and resilience, but I also see how important it is for them to develop the tools to understand and express their feelings in a healthy way.
For this project, I’m requesting resources from Diane Alber's "A Little Spot of Emotion" series, including books, workbooks, flashcards, stuffed figures, and dot stickers.
These materials will provide a hands-on, interactive way for my students to explore emotions like happiness, sadness, anger, and calmness. By engaging with these tools, they’ll gain the vocabulary and strategies to recognize and manage their feelings, which is essential for their overall emotional development and academic success.
My goal is to create a supportive, emotionally intelligent classroom where students feel safe to express themselves and can thrive both socially and academically. These resources will allow us to practice important social-emotional skills in a fun and approachable way. What makes my students special is their enthusiasm for learning and their willingness to grow emotionally, and this project will help them on that journey.
