This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher in a low-income school district, I see my students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Many of my students face insecurities and hardships. Despite these challenges, my students always come ready to learn but don't always have the resources and tools to deal with their ever-changing emotions.
A Little Spot of Emotions is a social-emotional curriculum that gives students the tools to deal with anxiety, sadness, love, and many other emotions.
The possibilities are endless when students have tools to enhance their social-emotional learning. I am requesting the A Little Spot of Emotions book series so that I can engage my students during our social-emotional learning. Students connect with story characters, and the vibrant characters from each story will allow my students to create connections and further our conversations about social-emotional learning. After each story, I plan on having students reflect on each topic. In addition, I am also requesting the Little Spot of Emotions plushies so that I can engage my students on each book topic. Obtaining these items from this project would tremendously help my students during Social-Emotional Learning.
