This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help guide my explicit teaching of self regulation skills, coping skills, as well as support students in the aspect of inclusivity and acceptance. These resources will be resources my students can use on a daily basis to cope and regulate their emotions. I want to be able to teach them that emotions are a normal aspect of life that can be dealt with in a healthy way. All of these items are sensory based to increase engagement, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, along with inclusion. In a special education classroom, students often display many emotions because they are afraid to be different or need help. I want to have the resources within our classroom that reminds them of how unique and important they are to me and their peers!
