A Little SPOT of Everything!

Help me give my students the -A Little SPOT- series to help them cope with their emotions, make good decisions, take action, and learn life skills.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Haq's classroom raised $442

This project is fully funded

My Students

My students are the most caring, unique, and energetic students you will meet. All of my students are diagnosed with different disabilities, and many of them are English Language Learners (ELL) as well. They come from low-income families and receive free school breakfast and lunch. Despite all this, they are filled with curiosity and are always eager to learn. The students in my class love to engage in fun activities, especially those that are hands-on.

My Project

Given the background of my students, some of them find it challenging to express themselves, which also makes it difficult for them to interact with their peers. Learning in a remote environment has made this even more difficult, due to the lack of turn-and-talk opportunities. When communicating your needs becomes a task, students can become easily frustrated and exhibit problem behaviors.

The A Little Spot series will not only help my students come out of their shell, but it will also help them articulate their emotions, leading them to become the best version of themselves.

These books will teach my students how to cope with their emotions, as well as life skills. In the end, I am hopeful my students will be able to express themselves, and grow a soft SPOT, where they will become empathetic and compassionate towards others.
