Help me give my students books that teach them about their emotions and how to cope with different feelings.

My Students

As a math teacher, I get to work with entire grade levels by co-teaching lessons and working with small groups of students. My students are extremely hard working and come into math with a positive attitude. I have worked to instill a growth mindset in my students. This has helped students be open to learning new content and trying new strategies. Despite any challenges students may be facing, they demonstrate perseverance and give their absolute best.

My students are a diverse group who are continuing to learn about perseverance and how to be in control of their emotions.

The students have a lot of expectations and are beginning to learn how to handle emotions. My students are more engaged and demonstrate a stronger understanding of the content when hands-on or visuals are used. The students especially enjoy learning through inquiry, games, and working with peers.

My Project

Students come to school not only to learn the different academic subjects, but they also learn how to interact with peers and control their emotions. During the school day, students learn new academic concepts, which at times can be challenging. Sometimes when students are faced with a challenge, they may feel anxious. These books will allow them to identify what emotion they are feeling and it will provide them with a strategy to use.

Students feel a variety of emotions while learning the different academics and when interacting with their peers.

These interactions can be at recess or in small groups during the different content areas. At times students may feel anger over another student having a role or toy they want. By incorporating these books into the classrooms, students will learn how they can solve these situations. Please help give my students the tools they need to identify their emotions.
