My Project
I am a special education teacher for the third grade. Throughout the year, we work on social-emotional regulation because of the range of feelings students experience as they grow. There is a direct link between feelings and the ability to learn.
When we are able to equip our students with social emotional regulation skills, we help them make brain space to learn!
Books are a great way to introduce new vocabulary and encourage discussion about personal experiences. I hope to teach my students the words they need to name their feelings and talk about them so that they are able to cope with different social challenges, seek help, or help others.
