it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school has close quarters and there is no space dedicated for speech therapy. Over the years, I've learned to be resourceful and flexible, but our special education students really need more. One of our amazing teachers has offered us an alcove under the stairs outside his classroom. I cleared out broken furniture and put in some serious elbow grease to clean the area. It's going to be amazing! I've purchased cleaning supplies, materials, a light, a curtain, and even some art for the wall.
But I need your help to finish turning this nook into a functional classroom.
We still need a table, chairs, and a dry erase board so we can learn about language, social skills, and work on speech production. I'm also asking for a locking cabinet to secure our resources. The cable lock will ensure the furniture doesn't vanish and the tarp will keep everything dust and plaster-free.
We've gone a long time making do with what we have, but this new space will be a game-changer for my students. I hope you'll join in making this project a reality and I can't wait to share our successes with you once we're up and running. Thank you for your consideration.
