My Project
In the three years I've been teaching high school, I have noticed that when students have a snack, they are more likely to engage in the classroom materials, leading to their overall success.
I have been supplying the students with my own funding, and I need some help.
Giving them access to something as basic as a snack shows my students I care about them and their well-being and helps build a rapport.
Many of my students don't have consistent access to food in their homes and come to me asking for something to eat, just to give them the fuel they need to engage in their daily classes. Other students are tasked with getting younger siblings ready and dropping them off at school, and do not have time to eat a well-rounded breakfast.
The snacks you will help me provide through this project will help mitigate the loss of brain fuel. It's small acts like this that keep students coming to school.
