Help me give my students the best start yet with diverse literacy, writing supplies, a new pencil sharpener, treasure treats, and other needed classroom materials.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The Pond Crew is filled with all types of diverse life learners! They make mistakes, they problem-solve, and they give their best every day.
They are unique tadpoles learning daily to be functioning citizens of our community and world.
We are a family!
We are a small rural area school that pledges every day to be the very best at all that's in front of us. Our school's population is over 70% free or reduced-price lunch. Therefore, student resources and experiences are very limited.
My Project
The items listed will give the children a boost in ownership of their new school year with a smile. I think it's important for children to feel like they have ownership in their classroom. I chose books to enlighten and enhance their understanding of diversity and how we are different but the same. The dry erase markers will create a shared community to express ideas out loud.
Each item on the list was added with the thought of each child building value through diversity in having a community within the classroom.
I believe in teaching the whole child that they may become upstanding life-learners. The resource books will create lessons for the students that struggle with reading, sensory and dyslexia issues.
The resources will enhance community skills with the sharing of the pencil sharpener to the stapler, self-encouragement with the diversity books to learn each person has a unique role and to building self-care to understand their learning style. The year wouldn't be as special without treasure box experiences with birthday bracelets, Playdoh, and prizes. The wipes will allow the class to stay healthy. the writing tools will allow the students to connect to the world and their peers in more than black and white!
It's the little things that will do but have a lasting impression!
