This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school motto is success and nothing less! Our students are challenged daily to do their best at home, in the community, and at school.
We are considered a Title I school, where the majority of students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Most of our students qualify for the Free/Reduced-Price Lunch Program and a great number have limited to no access to technology in the home.
However, even with all of these challenges, our students show up every day with smiling faces and a positive attitude ready to take on the world.
My Project
Our classroom is in great need of a color printer to help provide interesting and dynamic learning materials. The students I work with have a wide range of needs and abilities, with many different learning styles, but most benefit from material presented visually.
A color printer would help create fun and engaging games and materials that are eye-catching and motivating.
With our new color printer, I would be able to print rich and vibrant instructional materials for each student and create activities that are more engaging and look appealing to students. This is of particular importance because most of my students need a great deal of encouragement as they struggle with learning to read and write. I hope to create a love of learning and with more vivid and interactive materials, students will be engaged in their learning and the presentation will be more memorable.
