My Students
We have been having a great time learning this school year. Finally adjusted to a new school and new students, I am pleased to say that all of the new school worries are over. In recent months, I have noticed that we are running out of a few essentials to keep the school year going. When you think about it, this isn't too bad of a problem. Just a minor challenge that we are hoping to resolve sooner than later.
My students love learning, but there are most accustomed to the routines that are set forth in our classroom.
Located in Washington, D.C., we have plenty of outside resources to keep them busy and entertained. But inside the classroom is where we could use a bit of assistance. Establishing routines can really keep the flow of learning smooth. With my students in particular, these routines assist them with processing day to day activities. This is what brings us to our most recent project.
My Project
The resources for this project will get us through the remainder of the school year. In our classroom, we use a specific color folder for homework assignments. With the red two pocket folders, students are able to continue carrying important documents to and from home. They are also provided with an organized way of completing assignments away from school. Using a specific color folder has also helped when students have misplaced them throughout the building. It's a routine that has worked out for everyone involved! The Astrobright paper that we are requesting adds a bit of splash to student work. By using brighter paper, students may be more engaged in completing the tasks at hand. It also makes the classroom environment brighter when displaying student work and projects.
The card stock that we are requesting will give the classroom laminator a much needed break.
With this resource, I am able to provide students with a more sturdy resource for learning sight words at home and learning strategies in the classroom. That way, it can last throughout the remainder of the school year without any rips or spills. An added bonus is that I am able to create classroom bookmarks with reading strategies for students. With the resources that we are requesting, you can imagine the amount of stapling that will occur. To make things go a bit smoothly, we are also asking for an electronic stapler with additional staples to avoid jams with putting documents together.
We are hoping that you can provide us with a few extra resources to get us through the remainder of the school year!
