Help me give my students printer ink, paper towels, hand soap and hand wipes because it's time to replenish basic classroom supplies that help keep the learning going as we enter the homestretch.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's winter and these two things are true: students are getting sick left and right, and there's still a lot of work and writing left to do as my students start getting ready for annual state testing.
The requested printer ink and cleaning supplies will help get my students through the end of this school year.
My students have been doing a lot of writing, trying to improve their sentence combining skills, grammar skills, and capitalization and punctuation skills. What makes all that work worth it, and instills pride in completing their final draft, is seeing their essay come out of our class printer. But we are very low in toner and printing their work will soon come to a halt if we don't replace the ink cartridge.
Minimizing the number of students absent is a big goal during cold and flu season. So cleaning and sanitizing surfaces becomes even more of a priority during the winter because it's the one thing we can do to help keep as many of my students from being absent; missing school means missing out on learning. Daily sanitizing and cleaning of surfaces is part of our routines to help slow down the spreading germs.
