My Students
My students are ages 3-5 with various special needs. They thrive in a learning space that has various types of toys, reading materials, and basic school supplies that will help everyday learning. My students come from low-income homes and do not always have a comfortable place to go home to, receive the supports needed, or cannot afford resources to help with learning.
My Project
The soft, durable, and easily sanitized furniture will create an environment similar to home. The couch, ottoman, and chair will provide hours of dramatic fun in our home living area. They will give the children comfortable seating during alone reading time.
Having an area in our room that is similar to home will give the children a sense of peace and belonging.
The children will be able to act out scenarios of home living. With this comfortable space, the children can enter a world of creation and imagination that is endless.
