This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Trying to help kindergarten students stay focused on a task while independently working in a small group can be challenging, but if their ears are closed off to what the rest of the groups are doing it can work!
I teach 25 energetic, ready to learn Kindergarten students.
For most of my students, this is their first school experience and I want for it to be a memorable one! Kindergarten sets the foundation for the rest of their educational careers and your donation will help me maximize their experiences. Our school is located in South Los Angeles, CA. We are a 100% Title I school, which means all of our students qualify for free meals.
My Project
We break into guided reading groups on a daily basis. While working independently my students need something that will keep them busy and on task. I plan to have a listening center as one of our independent guided reading stations. Students will use the listening center to listen to read aloud stories as well as practice listening, writing, and reading skills.
This projects will make a difference in the quality time students spend working independently.
A listening center will help students stay focused, busy, and on task as they practice language arts skills.
